RCMP say a Campbellton man was killed Monday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 11 in Tide Head, New Brunswick.

The crash occurred shortly after 2 p.m. when the victim's vehicle apparently went off the road and hit a cement pole at the Tide Head weight scale. The 69-year-old driver, who was the only one in the vehicle. died at the scene, according to Corporal Yves Desroches of the Campbellton RCMP.

The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation, police say.  An RCMP collision reconstructionist is assisting with the case.

Police are asking that if anyone witnessed the crash or saw the vehicle before it left the road to call the Campbellton RCMP detachment at (506) 789-6000.
