Watch – Do You Know this Masked Suspect in a Burglary in Greene?
The Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office has released video of a burglary in Greene, hoping someone will recognize the suspect.
Where Did the Burglary Happen?
Deputies were called to Farris Equipment on Route 202 in Greene on Wednesday, May 3rd for a report of a burglary that had just happened. Someone broke into the store and stole chainsaws from inside the business and then fled. Officials captured a vehicle on video that appears to be the suspect's full-size pickup truck, light in color, which may have been a Dodge Ram.
What's On the Surveillance Videos?
The video of the pickup was not released, but the Sheriff's Office has released two videos that show the suspect who broke into the building. In the first video, you can see the suspect cross the lot, wearing black clothing and a partial face mask. He appears to check the area to make sure no one's around before using what appears to be a hammer or small mallet to break out the door. As he disappears from the shot, you can see broken glass scattering on the pavement.
In the second video, what appears to be the same person can be seen grabbing at least two chainsaws that appear to be leashed together. As he carries one, he drags the other one through the broken door before taking off.
Did the Burglary Suspect Act Alone?
Officials say they believe there was a second person involved in this burglary who stayed with the truck. The vehicle was last seen traveling on the Patten Road towards the fire station.
