Bucksport Woman Accused of Robbing the Circle K Store in Belfast
A Bucksport woman is facing charges after allegedly robbing the Circle K store in Belfast.
Who Was Arrested?
The suspect has been identified as Kristen Herbest, 23, of Bucksport. She was arrested on Friday and charged with robbery.
How Did the Robbery Go Down?
That charge stems from a robbery that happened at around 1:30 Thursday morning, March 23rd, at the Circle K Convenience Store on Northport Avenue in Belfast. A person, believed to be Herbest, walked into the store wearing a camo jacket, pajama pants, and a mask. They approached the cashier, indicated that they were armed, and handed the employee a note demanding money. The cashier handed over some money and the suspect left the store, heading toward the nearby Napa Store.
Belfast Police released photos of the suspect on the department's Facebook page and asked the public for help identifying them. On Friday, Belfast and Bucksport Police Officers executed a search warrant at the Route 46 home of Herbest. As a result of that search, she was taken into custody without incident. Herbest was transported to the Waldo County Jail to await her arraignment, which is scheduled for May 12th.
Wasn't Belfast in the News Again Over the Weekend?
It's been a busy week for law enforcement in Belfast. On Saturday, an inmate from the Waldo County Correctional Center was taken to Waldo County General Hospital for treatment of an ongoing issue, and escaped custody. Police caught up with him by 9:00 that night at a Belfast home. Robert Porter, 39, of Montville had been arrested two days earlier on a probation violation.
