Body of Missing Woman Found in Wooded Area in Maine

The body of a missing woman was found Tuesday afternoon in Newport.

The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office said “the body of Pauline Berardi was located in a wooded area on the Williams Road.”

Last Seen at Residence

Berardi had been missing since August 15. She was last seen at her residence in Plymouth.

Cause and Manner of Death Investigation

Berardi’s body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the cause and manner of death.

No Threat to Public

Officials said there was no threat to the public. “In order to protect the integrity of the investigation, no further details will be released at this time,” said the Sheriff’s Office.
