Bangor Police Arrest 5 People at a House on Hancock Street
Five people were arrested on Thursday after Bangor Police were called to a home on Hancock Street.
Why Were Police At the House?
Sergeant Jason McAmbley says police received a phone call just before 10:00 Thursday morning from a parent who said their adult child had been inside the Hancock Street residence and that they had been threatened with a weapon. Police went to the home and blocked off a portion of the street, out of an abundance of caution. While they found ten people inside, none of them was the person who had allegedly done the threatening.
Who Was Arrested?
During their investigation, however, police determined that many of the people inside the house were wanted for various offenses.
- Emily Greene, 20, of Hermon had one outstanding arrest warrant.
- Haley Spaulding, 33, of Newburgh had one outstanding arrest warrant.
- Mary Sturtevant, 26, of Bangor had three outstanding arrest warrants. Sturtevant is also charged with trafficking in prison contraband and drug possession after she was found to be concealing illegal drugs on her person after she was taken to jail.
- James Manning, 31, of Winterport had two outstanding arrest warrants. He was also charged with trafficking in prison contraband for items found on his person at the time he was taken into jail.
- Trinity Clark, 23, of Dedham had two outstanding arrest warrants.
They were all taken to the Penobscot County Jail.
What About the Claim That Someone Had Been Threatened?
Detectives investigated the alleged threat and determined the situation had likely been exaggerated by those directly involved. Ultimately, there was not enough evidence to prove the incident had ever taken place.
