Bangor Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Broadway.
A Person Hit on Center Street Suffered Serious Injuries
The name of the victim has not been released. Sergeant Jason McAmbley says they suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police Say the Car's Driver Is Cooperating With the Investigation
Officers responded to the section of Broadway near Center Street and Earle Avenue at approximately 8:00 Monday night, after a report that someone had been struck by a vehicle and was lying in the roadway. The driver of the car is cooperating with the police.
The Pedestrian Was Wearing Dark Clothing and Headphones
Investigators determined that the vehicle that struck the pedestrian was traveling north on Broadway and the traffic control light at the intersection was green for northbound traffic. The pedestrian was trying to cross the road when the vehicle hit them. They were not in a crosswalk. Bangor Police say the person was wearing dark clothing and headphones.
This incident remains under investigation.
