Aroostook County Man Pleads Not Guilty to Child Porn Charges

A Blaine man pleaded not guilty Tuesday in federal court in Bangor to charges of transporting, receiving and possessing child pornography.

Last fall, 40-year-old Robert D. Kinney Jr. was arrested at his home in Blaine in late September and charged with possession of sexually explicit material of someone under the age of 12.

Police said a search of Kinney's electronic devices at his home showed graphic photos of infants being sexually molested.  None of the victims are believed to be from Maine.

The Blaine man was originally charged in Aroostook County Superior Court, and was indicted on the federal charges on February 12.

If convicted in federal court, Kinney faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.  He has been released on $10,000 bail.
