Aaron Hernandez Found Hanged in Jail Cell

Massachusetts Department of Corrections said 27-year-old Aaron Hernandez was found hanging in his jail cell Wednesday morning.

The former New England Patriots tight end used a bed sheet tied to his prison window to commit suicide, said officials. He was found around 3:00 a.m. Hernandez also tried to block the cell door with items.

Hernandez was convicted for the murder of Odin Lloyd in 2013. Friday, he was found not guilty for a 2012 double murder in Boston. He was incarcerated at the Souza Baranowski Correctional Center in Shirley Massachusetts.

Hernandez played tight end for the Patriots from 2010 - 2012.
