
66-Year-Old Man Died after Propane Explosion in Maine
A 66-year-old man died Friday after a propane explosion at 118 Aroostook Road in Molunkus.
Fatal Propane Explosion in Aroostook County
The homeowner, Kerry Holmes, was pronounced dead at the scene around 3 pm.
Thawing Frozen Water Tank with Torch
The Fire Marshal’s Office said Holmes was using a propane torch to thaw a frozen water tank on a commercial truck.
Propane Gas and Ignition Source
“At some point, the torch flame went out and propane gas collected in and around the tank. A second torch being used is suspected as the ignition source,” said The Maine Department of Public Safety.
Ongoing Investigation
The incident is under investigation. Updates will be posted on social media when more information is released.
