
65-Year-Old Man Charged in 1984 Unsolved Murder Case in Maine
A 65-year-old man was arrested and charged with Murder in a 41-year-old homicide case in Maine.
1984 Murder Investigation
The Maine State Police said 18-year-old Linda Maxwell was last seen in Calais on August 23, 1984. She had spent the evening with friends.
Body Found on Shore
Her body was found two days later on the shore of the St. Croix River in Robbinston.
41-Year-Old Unsolved Homicide
After an extensive investigation, Maxwell’s homicide went unsolved for 41 years.
Charged with Murder
On Thursday, the Maine State Police arrested Raymond Brown from Bangor during a traffic stop. He was charged with Murder and taken to the Washington County Jail.
Lead Investigators
The case was investigated by the Major Crimes Unit-Unsolved, the Major Crimes Unit-North, the Attorney General’s Office and a Washington County Grand Jury.
