3-Year-Old Boy & His Parents Hurt in a Vehicle Fire in Franklin
A 3-year-old boy and his parents are being treated for burns after a vehicle fire at a home in Franklin.
What Happened?
Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss says the boy was in the vehicle at 49 Hog Bay Road in Franklin just before 3:00 on Sunday when the fire started. His parents were working at the residence, but they don't live there. Both adults tried to remove the boy from the flames and were injured in the process.
How Badly Were the 3 People Hurt?
The boy was flown to Mass General to be treated for burn injuries. His father was transported to Maine General for treatment of burn injuries and his mother was taken to Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth for minor burns. She was treated and released.
Any Idea How the Fire Started?
Investigators are now working to determine how that fire started. The family's names have not been released.
