3 Lewiston Arrests in 10 Hours, Cocaine and a Stolen Gun Seized

Lewiston Police made 3 arrests during 2 traffic stops on Friday and seized a significant amount of drugs, as well as a stolen handgun.

When Was the First Case?

It was a busy afternoon for the Lewiston Police Department. It started when Lewiston Police Officers stopped a speeding vehicle and allegedly found evidence to suggest illegal drug activity. As they began to investigate further, one of the suspects tried to run from the scene, but Luis Quinones was apprehended quickly. The driver of the vehicle was also arrested.

They face the following charges:

• Luis Quinones, 35, of Brooklyn, New York is charged with aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs, failure to submit to arrest, and falsifying evidence.
• Donald Perry, 45, of Skowhegan is charged with unlawful possession of scheduled drugs.

Seized as a result of this traffic stop were 129 grams of cocaine and $6,500 in suspected drug proceeds.

WMTW-TV reports both men were taken to the Androscoggin County Jail where Perry's bail was set at $200 and bail for Quinones is set at $10,000. Officials say the New York man has a history of convictions.

And the Second?

It was around 10 hours later when Lewiston Police attempted to stop another vehicle for speeding, driven by Bryant Hutchins, 47, of Lewiston. Hutchins allegedly sped off, hitting two cars, before trying to flee on foot. He was also captured quickly.

Bryant Hutchins faces multiple charges, including:

• Aggravated trafficking
• Possession of a stolen firearm
• Possession of a firearm by a felon
• Unlawful Possession of illegal drugs

A search of his vehicle allegedly turned up a stolen handgun, $2,010 in cash, Suboxone strips, oxycodone pills, methamphetamine, and over 175 grams of crack cocaine.

Hutchins is being held without bail.
