The United Vets Motorcycle Club, based in Houlton, went to Arundel to present the Wounded Heroes of Maine a check for $10,000 that club members raised.

Aroostook Aspirations received more positive news this week. Pineland Farms, known in Aroostook for their Naturally Potatoes plant, announced today that the Mars Hill based company has committed to a $50,000 donation, payable at the rate of $10,000 per year beginning in2014, to the Aroostook Aspirations Initiative.
The fundraising campaign for a new Presque Isle Community Center has taken a big jump forward with a $1,500,000 planned giving donation from Bruce Sargent and his family.
