New Hampshire State Police say a tractor trailer hauling a modular home lost a wheel on I-93 just outside Manchester during the morning rush hour. The wheel bounced over the median and struck a police cruiser driven by the director of the New Hampshire State Police, Colonel Robert Quinn.

The wheel then bounced back into the  south bound lanes and struck the front of an SUV. The driver, Kerry Anderson-Baker of Concord, who was on her way to work at Lawrence General Hospital in Massachusetts, died in the crash.

The truck driver, apparently unaware that the wheel had broke loose, did not stop.  Maine State Police located the rig a few hours later at a rest stop along I-95 in Newport, Maine.

Investigators are now working to determine whether or not 51-year-old Allen Condon of Oakfield will face charges. Condon was hauling a modular home for Crawford Homes of Houlton and had an escort vehicle.
