Maine State Trooper Adam Bell investigated the collision shortly after midnight on Route 2A just below Linneus.  Jonathan Malone of Haynesville was driving his 2013 Dodge Dart south on the Bangor Road in Township A-Range 2 when he struck a cow moose, according to Sgt. Chad Fuller.

The moose caused minimal damage to the front end of the car, but significantly damaged the roof and windshield.  Malone sustained minor injuries to his forehead.  He refused medical treatment and had family members transport him to the hospital, Sgt. Fuller said.

State Police remind you that moose and deer are very active this time of year, so please slow down and use caution, especially at nighttime.
