The winners names from the Soccer Shoot sponsored by the Presque Isle Elks, Lodge #1954, held on Sunday, September 24, at the sports field of the University of Maine at Presque Isle  have been revealed.

Alan Harding, Competition Director for the event, anounced In the girls’ group, the winner in the under 8 years-old category was McKinley Cronin, of Presque Isle.  Runner-up was Libby Greenlaw, of Presque Isle.  Reagan Bernard of Mars Hill was the winner in the age 8 and 9 category.  Second was Mallory Cronin of Presque Isle.  Winning the age 10 and 11 division was Regan Deschene of Presque Isle.  Kacie Marston of Presque Isle had the second highest score in that category.  Eva Calliaris came out on top in the age 12 and 13 division.  McKenna Brown of Mapleton was runner-up by a very slim margin.

The winning boy in the under 8 years-old division was Brayden Amero of Caribou.  Duke Deschene trailed by only one point in earning the runner-up trophy.  Cayden Ala of Fort Fairfield won in the age 8 and 9 division.  Mason Arseneault was the runner-up for that age group.  In the age 10 and 11 division, Max Graves was the winner, with Brent Greenlaw of Presque Isle trailing by only one point in finishing second.

There was a tie for first among the age 12 and 13 year-old boys, with Dawson Kinney of Presque Isle winning the tie breaker.  Xavier McAtee earned the second-place trophy.

The winners will now advance to the Soccer Shoot for Maine’s northern division, which will take place at the Mount Hope Avenue soccer fields in Bangor on Sunday, October 8, 2017, at 1:00 p.m.
