The Wilderness Walk for Warriors is underway as the team goes on a 100 mile “Memorial Wall’ hike from Monson to Mt. Katahdin.

The 6th annual trek takes 10 days. This year, 11 hikers will carry pieces of the memorial wall honoring 9-11 service members & law enforcement killed in action. The wall has 115 names on it, and will be assembled to create a complete memorial.

The group making the walk also has honor rocks representing Trooper Ben Campbell, Trooper Jeffery Parola and Trooper Glen Strange.

The walk kicked off July 13th with the 6th annual Support Escort Motorcycle Ride on a 60 mile trip from to Bangor Army Aviation Support Facility to the Community Center in Monson.

Wilderness Walk for Warriors honors Maine’s fallen heroes, assists veterans, service members & their families. It’s an all-volunteer group founded by Chris Robinson with co-Founder Tim Robinson.

Donations go to Danette Robinson at 101 Forest Hill Drive, Levant, ME 04456.
