I recently read a story about two hikers, exploring the stunning Swiss Alps when one fell off the edge of the mountain. Sarah unfortunately plummeted 60 feet down the mountain. She survived the fall but was stuck.

How were they going to get rescued?

Her nephew, Ed, swiftly remembered that he had downloaded the what3words app. This is an app that can pinpoint your direct location, using 3 random words.

"The emergency personnel knew all about what3words—and the address ///crabmeat.hers.froze showed them the exact spot where Sarah landed."

This app is a literal life-saver.

Due to Apple apps, it divides the world into small squares, a grid of 10-foot by 10-foot. Each grid has a unique 3-word address.

So you are literally and seamlessly sharing your location, even in areas without traditional addresses. If you're a hiker who loves to explore hidden spots and off-the-beaten-paths, then the what3words app is a must-have for you.

What is the what3words app?

It's a great find to add to your life. If you want to find your precise location, you open the app and a map appears, it then quickly shows you where you are with a blue dot. Once that pops up, you'll see 3 random words at the top that will be your address location.

It's so useful not only for hiking but also for travel, sharing locations, and navigation in general.

I love to explore Maine and other states. So, whether you're hiking through thick forests, climbing mountains, or exploring vast deserts like Aladdin, the what3words app can help you pinpoint your exact location and share it with others.

I have never been good at navigation. I am trying to get better at it now that I am an adult but it hasn't been a natural gift of mine so an app like this, would help me immensely.

And guess what? The what3words app is accessible in the United States. If you are in a position where you need help, the app teaches you how to share your location with emergency personnel.

It's not like any other app because you can use it in situations where traditional addresses are non-existent.
