Though many fans connect country singer Jake Owen with lighthearted, easygoing, beach-friendly songs, Owen is deeper than just sand, surf and sun.

With four studio albums under his belt (and another on the way), Owen has connected with fans on fun-loving tracks such "Beachin'" and "Real Life," but he's also bared his heart and soul on more than one occasion. The Boot's list of the Top 10 Jake Owen Songs encompasses both of those ends of the spectrum, and the tracks on this list range from Owen's first-ever country single in 2006 to his most recent, almost a decade later.

    "Yee Haw"

    From 'Startin' With Me' (2006)

"Yee Haw" was Owen's debut single in country music, and the bar favorite has been played many times since 2006. It peaked at No. 16 on the country charts, and the good-time, party-centric tune helped pave the way for the long-haired, charismatic singer.

    "The One That Got Away"

From 'Barefoot Blue Jean Night' (2011)

Owen began writing this song with the intention of it having a Tom Petty groove. The tune is all about lost summer love, and as Owen sings, "We shared three short months / And one long goodbye," anyone who's had a summer fling can relate. "The One That Got Away" became a No. 1 hit in 2012 and Owen's fourth gold-certified single.

    "Alone With You"

From 'Barefoot Blue Jean Night' (2011)

"Alone With You" gave Owen yet another No. 1 hit and platinum certification. The song describes a woman with whom he can't be alone; she's a tease through and through.

"Don't put your lips up to my mouth and tell me you can't stay / Don't slip your hand under my shirt and tell me it's okay," Owen sings, and listeners can hear the torment in his voice.

From 'Barefoot Blue Jean Night' (2011)

    "Startin' With Me"

    From 'Startin' With Me' (2006)

Owen co-wrote "Startin' With Me" with Kendall Marvel and Jimmie Ritchey. It became his first Top 10 country hit, peaking at No. 6, and it's not hard to see why: The song is autobiographical -- along with some of his buddies' regrets -- and full of remorse. From sleeping with his best friend's baby sister to pawning his grandpa's old guitar, Owen poignantly sings of heartache and a desire to turn back time.

    "Anywhere With You"

From 'Barefoot Blue Jean Night' (2011)

Though critics weren't jazzed about the song, Owen's "Anywhere With You" proved to be a hit with fans: It sold over one million copies, peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart and captured many women's hearts with its sweet lyrics. After all, a man who will go anywhere, from West Virginia to Mexico (or even Idaho), just to be with his love is a pretty romantic thought.

    "Real Life"

Released as a Single in 2015

With top songwriters Shane McAnally, Josh Osborne, Ashley Gorley and Ross Copperman at the helm and Owen delivering the tune, "Real Life" is a whole lot of fun. Featuring prom queens with plastic crowns, rude waitresses at a Waffle House and a call to be grateful for what's right in front of you, "Real Life" is a song that deserves to be mentioned in this list.

    "What We Ain't Got"

    From 'Days of Gold' (2013)

Released as the third single from Days of Gold, Owen's "What We Ain't Got" is one of his more serious, hard-hitting tunes. He knew it was a risk to release the song, which is vastly different from his more lighthearted portfolio, but he took it. "What We Ain't Got" brings depth to Owen's persona, and the yearning lyrics -- about a loved one who has left him -- are especially poignant.

    "Days of Gold"

    From 'Days of Gold' (2013)

"Days of Gold" is recognizable just by its volume -- it's a rocking song, full of energy and descriptive lyrics. In this tune, Owen sings about the quintessential days of summer, filled with ice-cold beer, hot dogs on the burner and rides down a dirt road. It was the first single and title track from his fourth studio record.
