Thousands Flock to Florenceville-Bristol for Free Fries
Besides being Friday the 13th this past Friday, it was another kind of "Fry-day." it was also National French Fry Day in Canada.
Thousands gathered on a beautiful summer day in Florenceville-Bristol, New Brunswick, the french fry capital of the world, to honor the culinary "patates frites."
For the ninth year, Potato World hosted the french fry celebration beginning at 11:00 am and wrapping up at 2:00 in the afternoon.
McCain Foods were on hand dolling out generous samples of their delicious french fries. Over 350 pounds in just the first hour.
Besides the day's honoree, the french fry, there was also live music, a french fry cutting competition, and for the kids there was face painting, inflatables, balloons and more. There were also numerous vendors and displays.
