Boston Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Month on Thursday afternoon for his efforts in January.

Thomas averaged 32.9 points in 14 games with the Celtics and helped move the team into second place in the Eastern Conference as a result.  During that time he also shot almost 50 percent from the field and 43 percent from beyond the arch.

The Celtics are 31-18 on the season and have a 1.5 game lead over the Toronto Raptors for the top spot in the Atlantic Division.  Thomas was named as an All-Star team member last week in the East after missing out on a starting nod earlier in January.
