Task Force Busts Three People for Selling Crack in Maine
Three people were arrested and charged with selling cocaine Thursday night in Machias.
Police described the drug bust:
MDEA agents assigned to the Downeast District Task Force based in Ellsworth recently purchased drugs from suspects at a multi-unit apartment building on Main Street in Machias.
Around 9:00 p.m. Thursday night MDEA Agents assisted by deputy sheriffs and state troopers served a search warrant on the suspects’ apartment, and seized approximately 64 grams of crack and over $13,000 in cash.
Police said 44-year-old David Dowling from Machias, 36-year-old Angela Ward also from Machias & 30-year-old Jeffrey Sherrills from New York City are charged with Class A, Aggravated Trafficking in Cocaine Base.
They were taken to the Washington County Jail with bail at $250,000 each.
The investigation centered on the acquisition of the drugs from New York City being distributed in Hancock and Washington counties, said officials.
