A practice that combines a team well-known in the region with a new provider that broadens the range of services and access for patients.

Dr. Narayana Prasanna has provided ENT and allergy services to Aroostook County for the past 30 years through his Northern Maine ENT Associates practice.  With the primary office located in Presque Isle for a number of years now, he has also treated patients in clinics in Houlton, Caribou and Fort Kent.

He and his experienced staff have now joined the TAMC team of specialty services.

I am committed to my patients and their care. I have had the pleasure of treating thousands of people over my years here in Aroostook County. As I began to look ahead to eventual plans of retirement, I wanted to make sure my patients would continue to receive excellent care that they can depend on,” explained Prasanna.  “My experiences with TAMC over the years, where I perform my surgeries, have been very positive, and I knew that moving my practice to TAMC would ensure the continuity of care now and in the future.”

Joining Prasanna in the TAMC Ear, Nose & Throat Services practice is Dr. Paul Krivitsky.  Krivitsky obtained his medical diploma at Boston University, went on to two years of general surgery training at the University of California Irvine and then completed a residency in otolaryngology at the University of California Irvine.  He is board certified from the American Board of Otolaryngology and ran his own private practice where he has been recognized as one of the top otolaryngologists in Orange County, California.  The Boston native was ready to return to the east coast to be closer to family and friends, to enjoy four seasons again and to benefit from a slower pace of life than greater Hollywood had to offer.

Relocating back to New England from southern California to continue practicing ENT and to be close to my family in Boston has been something I’ve been thinking about for some time,” said Krivitsky. “I’m very fortunate to have found the excellent opportunity that TAMC and Dr. Prasanna have presented me where I can continue to practice the quality, patient-oriented and service-directed care that I have been doing in my private practice for more than 25 years. I’m looking forward to becoming part of both the excellent medical community at TAMC and the Presque Isle community in general.”

With his addition to the practice, capacity has increased, allowing more patients easier access to the service.  Some new treatments will also be added to the broad ranges of services already provided through the practice as his experience is added to the mix.

We are excited to welcome this experienced, dedicated team to the TAMC family,” said Sylvia Getman, TAMC president/CEO.  “As a ‘hub’ of healthcare in Aroostook County, we are committed to ensuring the availability of key physicians and treatment options to the region.  Adding ENT services to the TAMC family of specialty services is another step in our ongoing efforts to improve access to services and the patient experience.”

TAMC Ear, Nose & Throat Services is located in the basement of A.R. Gould Memorial Hospital on Academy Street.  The office opened to patients on Monday, February 22.  In addition to their TAMC location, the practice will continue to serve patients at clinics held at Houlton Regional Hospital, Northern Maine Medical Center, Cary Medical Center and TAMC’s Caribou Health Center.
