I love this time of year! From the spooky haunted hayrides to the corn mazes, and everything in between! There is something for everyone to do right here in Northern Maine and Western New Brunswick, as far as Halloween is concerned.

I've found 5 family friendly events that are happening right here in our area this month and thought I'd share.

  1. The Haunted Lantern Tour in Presque Isle - Friday and Saturday, October 26th and 27th. It's a One-hour "kinda creepy and sorta spooky" tour by lantern light of historic downtown Presque Isle including a tour of the historic jail that runs from 7P.M. to 8P.M. those nights. Cost is $3.00 per person. The tour takes off from the Historic Fire Station, located at 11 Church Street in Presque Isle.
  2. The annual pumpkin display at Stewart Farms in Presque Isle is a Fall tradition in Aroostook County. Kids love picking out their own pumpkins and the Halloween decorations. Stewart's Farm is open 9A.M. to 6P.M., 7 days a week. It's located at 424 Houlton Road in Presque Isle. For more information call 207-764-4223.
  3. Goughan's Corn Maze in Caribou is fun for the whole family. Getting lost in a maze can be as much fun a family can have in a field of corn. Don't forget about their homemade ice cream! Goughan's is located 872 Fort Fairfield Road in Caribou and it open Monday thru Saturday 8-5, Sunday noon to 5. For more information call 207-496-1731.
  4. Oakfield Haunted Hayride to benefit Toys for Tots - Oct 19 & 20 also Oct 26 & 27. Please call 521-4490 for more information.
  5. 2012 Haunted Train in Florenceville-Bristol, NB - Friday, October 26th. Board the Train to Hollywood Movie Mania From 5P.M to 7P.M. will be less intense, appropriate for younger children, and is well-lit. 7:30P.M. to 9P.M. has a stronger theme, appropriate for older children, youth and adults. There will be story telling, an outdoors theater, treats and more! Cost is $2.00 per person. Parental discretion is advised.

So there is definitely a lot going on around the area for young and old alike! Hope you get out and enjoy some of the spooky events!
