Caribou’s Emma Graves finished 5th overall as the Maine State Nordic Skiing Championships wrapped up at Lonesome Pines in Fort Kent with the girls pursuit races.

Five County tournament games were played Saturday in Bangor, plus Presque Isle hockey won twice and Caribou’s Brock Gagnon won a Class B state wrestling title. Full roundup with leaders here.

Presque Isle battled top-seed Cony but fell 63-51 in the Class B quarterfinal. Kason Bua scored 14 points and the Wildcats finished the season 10-10.

Presque Isle’s Marion Young is the Winter Week Nine Athlete of the Week winner after making the Big East Honor Roll for the fifth time and closing the regular season with a 21-point performance in a Lady Wildcat win.

Presque Isle beat Nokomis 69-42 and Central Aroostook beat Schenck 55-40 to advance to Bangor. Thursday features four all-County Class S quarterfinal games.

Opening day of the 2026 tournament featured County teams in Bangor and a Class D girls prelim. Tonight brings two more win-or-advance games: Presque Isle vs John Bapst at 5:30 and Central Aroostook vs Schenck at 6:00.

Winter Week Nine Athlete of the Week nominees are set, including regional wrestling champions Brock Gagnon and Joel Desjardins plus standout basketball performances from Harleigh Allen, Ethan Walsh, and Marion Young.

Fort Fairfield boys beat Central Aroostook 55-43 behind Ethan Walsh with 20 points. Central Aroostook girls beat Fort Fairfield 65-33 behind Harleigh Allen with 27 points. Plus seeding notes for Caribou and Presque Isle.
