Following on the heels of storm surrounding the Thanksgiving holiday that brought up to a foot of snow to some parts of the state, Emera Maine is gearing up for another winter event.

The Bridgewater Fire Department was dispatched to a transformer fire on Bootfoot Road Wednesday afternoon after a tree knocked down a high voltage wire in front of a home.

Route 11 at Portage Lake was shut down for several hours early Monday morning after a pickup truck struck a utility pole and a tractor trailer became entangled in the wires.
