Three nurses at Cary Medical Center are being honored to recognize the super-human efforts nurses perform every day.

There are big demands on the men and women who don the scrubs every day and help folks like you and me get through whatever it is that's ailing our fragile bodies.

Nurses at The Aroostook Medical Center will have an opportunity to be recognized individually for outstanding service thanks to a national program through the DAISY Foundation in which the healthcare organization is now taking part.

Unionized nurses at The Aroostook Medical Center and the TAMC Board of Trustees each voted on November 10 to ratify a new contract between the Presque Isle healthcare facility and the Maine State Nurses Association.

Unionized nurses at TAMC returned to work on Sunday morning, July 24, after striking for 48 hours at the Presque Isle hospital. Patient care was not interrupted during the strike, according to Jay Reynolds, MD, chief medical officer.

Members of Maine State Nurses Association went on the picket line Friday in front of the Aroostook Medical Center to strike for what they consider safe staffing levels.

Aroostook County – Twenty-seven prospective new registered nurses celebrated a milestone as Northern Maine Community College held its annual pinning ceremony. The important event signifies the official entrance into the nursing field for members of the graduating class.  The graduate are now eligible and prepared to sit for the NCLEX-RN examination to obtain licensure as registered nurses. Aroostook County –Northern Maine Community College’s Student Nurses’ Association (SNA) made a donation for $1000 to the Aroostook ‘House of Comfort’, on October 15, 2014.  This is the second donation that the Nurses’ Association has made to this worthy cause.
