Just across the street, a towering reminder of Portland's past waits for its second act. The Fidelity Trust Building is on the brink of transformation.

It certainly helps when the president of the United States pays a visit, too.

Work began earlier this week on a project that will reconfigure the area of Pickering Square by the new Transit Center in Bangor.

We certainly do have great venues that give us opportunities throughout the winter season to do neat things, but I think there are other things that make Bangor a cozy destination.

Some of the fun things planned for the Bangor area this weekend are being postponed due to some wild weather moving into the area on Saturday.
