Police Investigating Suspicious Package Outside Building in Maine
Police are investigating after a suspicious package was located Monday morning in front of 188 State Street in Portland.
Suspicious Case Found Outside Building
The Portland Police Department said officers were alerted to “a suspicious “pelican case” with concerning writing on the exterior indicating that the case was explosive.”
Package Examined for Hazardous Material
The Hazardous Device Unit was called to the scene and took x-rays. HDU determined the package did not contain any hazardous material. Officials disposed of the box.
No Charges Filed
“There were no threats made to any establishment and the case was determined to be benign, so no charges are anticipated to be filed,” said Portland PD.
