Summer Paving Project on Route 1 in Aroostook County

Just a quick heads up if you travel Route 1 every day, like I do!

According to the Maine Department of Transportation, traffic will be disrupted on a 9-mile section of Route 1 for several months beginning Friday.

The MDOT advises that drivers should be on the lookout for flaggers on Route 1 northbound and southbound between Monticello, Bridgewater and Blaine.

Drivers should expect single line traffic alternating directions due to road construction work, frost heave repairs, cross pipe replacement, milling and paving.

Please look out for flaggers and expect some traffic delays.

This project will be going from Friday, May 15th until July 27th.
