Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush shared the stage with two American Idol hopefuls on Monday night (April 9). Together with Layla Spring and Gabby Barrett, the country duo performed their hits "Stuck Like Glue" and "Stay," respectively.

Readers can press play above to watch Sugarland and Barrett's take on "Stay," which finds Nettles and Barrett sharing vocals as Bush accompanies them on guitar. Both the audience and the judges were clearly impressed with the two singers' harmonies on the song's chorus.

Below, readers can see Sugarland and Spring's performance of "Stuck Like Glue." That song has been certified double-platinum and was a Top 5 country hit following its release as a single in 2010, while "Stay" also became a Top 5 hit after it was released as a single in 2007.

Sugarland's appearance on Idol was part of a series of celebrity duet pairings with the show's Top 24 contestants. In addition to solo performances, the duets helped narrow down the field of hopefuls to 14; while (spoiler alert!), Barrett advanced, Spring did not.

Twelve of American Idol's Top 24 contestants competed for their spots in the Top 14 this week. The other 12 will give their solo and celebrity duet performances next week (April 15 and 16); on the 16th, country star Cam will be among the show's special duet guests.

American Idol began its 16th season in mid-March. This season is the show's first on ABC, after running on Fox for 15 seasons.
