The National Weather Service Office in Caribou has posted a Winter Weather Advisory until early Sunday evening from Madawaska to Millinocket.  Forecasters expect snowfall totals across the region to range from 4 to 9 inches.

To the south, in Penobscot and Washington Counties, snowfall is expected to be less, but may mix with sleet and freezing rain until late in the evening.

More snow is likely on Tuesday, but at this point meteorologists say it's expected to be heaviest in central and southern Maine.
