Country duo Shotgun Rider are premiering their song "Bottom of This Crown" exclusively for readers of The Boot. Press play below to listen.

A Texas-based duo, Shotgun Rider describe "Bottom of This Crown" as a "drown-your-lost-love-in-a-bottle anthem." Its title is a nod to the classic heartbreak salve that is Crown Royal Canadian whiskey.

"So line 'em up / Throw 'em down / 'Til there ain't a drop around," the duo sings in the song's chorus. "I want to find my head at the bottom of this Crown."

"Bottom of This Crown" appears on the Shotgun Rider's full-length debut album, titled Palo Duro. The record takes its title and inspiration from the duo's home base of Canyon, Texas, which sits right near the cliffs of Palo Duro Canyon.

"We wanted to represent and honor the place where we grew up," says Anthony Enriquez, one-half of Shotgun Rider (his duo partner is Logan Samford). "A bunch of songs lean into that flat, West Texas landscape, where it's so lonely for miles, and you don't see anything but the earth. I don't know what it is about that place, but it feels both peaceful and lonely, and it's the same feeling that carries through in our music."

Palo Duro is due out on March 30; it's available for pre-order via iTunes. Fans can visit ShotgunRiderMusic.com to keep up with the duo.
