Shania Twain Reacts to Supreme Court’s DOMA Decision
On Tuesday (June 26), the Supreme Court ruled that the Defense of Marriage Act was unconstitutional, clearing the way for married gay couples to receive tax, health and pension benefits. Shania Twain was among the first of a few country stars to celebrate the decision.
Congratulations to everyone celebrating #equality today in the U.S. #loveislove

Others who heralded the decision include Jaron Lowenstein of Jaron and the Long Road to Love and Chely Wright, who married wife Lauren Blitzer in 2011.
Twain's tweet is something of a surprise, because the superstar has rarely -- if ever -- taken a stand on matters of politics. She follows Carrie Underwood in supporting the rights of same sex couples in America.
