Presque Isle Youth Hockey Atoms Competitive A team (ages 9-10) played in the state championship over the weekend in Bangor.

The Presque Isle Atoms Competitive A hockey team won the tournament for the state of Maine over the weekend. Congratulations to the Atoms Comp A team on an undefeated tournament!

The kids played 5 games total and were up against players from all over the State of Maine. Atoms Comp A ended the tournament undefeated in all 5 games – taking home the championship title for their division.

According to Atoms team manager, Heather MacKinnon,

This is an amazing accomplishment considering our team has 10 players (including the unbelievable goalie!) and the other teams were between 13-15 players. We, as parents and coaches are so proud of them for their sportsmanship, drive and determination to bring home this title to Aroostook County for the second year in a row.

The Atoms play in both the Canadian league as well as the State of Maine. During the season they travel from Edmundston, New Brunswick to Bangor, Maine.
