Presque Isle Moves On After Upsetting Top-seed Hermon [GIRLS]

The Presque Isle Wildcats pulled off the second upset of the afternoon, defeating top-ranked Hermon in a Wednesday semifinal and earning a spot in the regional final on Saturday.

Although the Hawks made a late run, it was too little, too late against Presque Isle, who controlled the game from early on behind a strong performance from senior star Emily Wheaton.

Wheaton scored 36 points in the 55-52 win.

For Hermon, senior Maddie Pullen led the team with 14 points. Senior Lauren Plissey had 13 points.

Hermon will end the season at 17-3.

Presque Isle will play No. 6 Winslow in the Class B north final at 2:05 p.m. on Saturday.
