Presque Isle Girls 69 Ellsworth 42

The Presque Isle Wildcats shot an incredible 50 per cent from beyond the 3-point arc on Friday night, January 23rd to beat the Ellsworth Eagles 69-42. The Wildcats were 15-30 from 3-point land.

One of the Ellsworth parents told me that it was like Presque Isle couldn't miss, and it certainly seemed like that, as they were 8-22 shooting 2-pointers, 15-30 from 3-point land and 8-12 from the free throw line.

The Wildcats were led by Emily Lagerstom with 15 points, while Emily Wheaton had 14 points and Hannah Graham had 10 points. Lagerstrom had 5 3-pointers, Olivia Hudson, Emily Wheaton, Emma Kinney, Hannah Graham and Taylor Williams all had 2 3-pointers.

The Eagles were led by Sammy Mason with 8 points. Caitlin Bean had 7 points and Hailee Langley and Katelynn Bagley each had 6 points for Ellsworth. Ellsworth was 8-16 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth is now 9-6 and plays host to Caribou on Saturday, January 24th at 11:30 AM. Presque Isle, now 13-1 plays at MDI on Saturday, January 24th at 1 PM in a game that will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA and WDEA Internet Radio.
