Police looking to Identifying Man Whose Body Was Found in Woods
ORIGINAL STORY:
Maine State Police are looking to identify a man’s body found along a woods road in Leeds, Maine Saturday afternoon. They are asking for the public’s help.
Police said, a couple riding an ATV found the body around 5 pm Saturday off the Bernie Hartford Road. The Androscoggin Sheriff’s Office was notified, and the State Police were asked to assist.
Detectives said the man is black, between 20 – 40 years old, 5 foot 9 inches and weighs about 110lbs. His hair is closely cropped along the side but long and curly on top. There’s an L shaped scar just below his right elbow. He was wearing black pants, a black pull over jacket with a white horizontal strip in front, and black Nike Air Jordan sneakers with gray treads.
The Bernie Hartford Road was closed Saturday night. It was expected to reopen Sunday afternoon.
The State Medical Examiner’s Office in Augusta is conducting an autopsy.
