One of two suspects wanted by police was arrested in Mapleton Thursday in connection with the theft of a tractor trailer in Easton on Tuesday, and the theft of a pickup truck in Milbridge Thursday.

39-year-old Jessie White was taken into custody when Deputy Sheriff Roy Guidry saw him walking on the Carvell Road in Mapleton. 33-year-old Darci Webber is still at large with the stolen pickup truck, and law enforcement is looking for her, said the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspects stole the red 2005 Chevrolet pickup from the Red Barn Motel in Milbridge Thursday, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. The pickup was spotted on Maine Street in Presque Isle around 1:30 that same day, leading to the search and apprehension of White.

White & Webber were wanted for stealing a white 2012 Freightliner tractor from Terry White of Easton Tuesday, said Acting Aroostook County Sheriff Shawn D. Gillen.

Jessie White was taken to the Aroostook County Jail and is charged with unauthorized use of property and eluding an officer, both class C felonies.

White and Webber are facing multiple charges by the Ashland Police Department, Houlton Police Department and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in connection to several motor vehicle thefts throughout Aroostook and Washington Counties.

Many law enforcement agencies were involved in the search in Presque Isle and Mapleton, including the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office, the Maine State Police and the Presque Isle Police Department.
