Things are looking up for a senior precision machining technology student at NMCC.

Cameron MacCrae received a full-time job offer and a year of tuition scholarship from GE Bangor after completing his summer internship, providing he graduates this spring.

According to a GE representative, proficiency as a machinist, curiosity, mastering training and attendance were some of the qualities that earned MacCrae the job and scholarship offer.

MacCrae first took interest in machining when he found an old machining chest belonging to his grandfather, who worked as a machinist for the Air National Guard.

Once MacCrae completes his senior year, he will return to Bangor to begin work.
