With melting snow comes mud season in Maine. Mud is usually plentiful during the spring months.

4-wheel drive trucks and mud seem to go hand in hand in Aroostook County. Admit it, we've all done! It's a blast to go out with your friends and look for any sort of mud you can find and just have a ball in the meantime, with mud flying everywhere!

The Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry says that rangers receive many complaints from landowners every spring because of damaged roads, ATV trails, and damage to forest and crops lands as well.

Forest rangers around the state will be out in full force looking for illegal mudding that causes damages to private property.

Just a reminder that mudding damage is a Class E crime punishable by up to six months in jail and a $1,000.00 fine. So please be respectful of private property this Spring.
