Hampden Academy standout Nick Gilpin is one of three finalists for Maine's Mr. Basketball Award while Lawrence HS standout Nia Irving headlines the list for Miss Basketball.

Gilpin scored over 1,000 points in his four year career for the Broncos. He also had over 500 assists and nearly 500 rebounds. The Broncos won three regional titles and two states titles during the four years. Hampden was ousted from this year's tournament by the Oceanside Mariners in the semi-final round.

Irving is a 1,000 point scorer and 1,000 rebounder for the Bulldogs. This season she is averaging 25 points and 20 rebounds per game. She leads her undefeated Lawrence team to the Class A title game on Saturday. The Bulldogs are defending champions.

The Mr. and Miss Basketball Award winners will be announced on March 11th during the McDonald's All Star Weekend in Bangor.
