Do You Know the Most Popular Coffee Drink in Maine?
Mainers love their caffeine, and ideally, they want it to taste good, too. Now, we’ve got the answer to our favorite way to enjoy coffee!
When it comes to enjoying coffee, there’s no shortage of options: lattes, cold brews, cappuccinos, black coffee, and iced coffee are all favorites. Despite the variety, Mainers and folks in our Pine Tree State have a clear favorite, putting one above the rest.
But how is this determined? How do we know what the most popular coffee drink in Maine is? And what does that even mean? Is there some sort of coffee census?
Taste of Home determined the most popular coffee drink in each state using data from the homeware brand Denby. Denby analyzed Google Trends data, looking at coffee-related internet searches across the U.S. from 2017 to 2022.
Alright, with all that in mind, what is Maine’s favorite coffee drink?
According to Taste of Home and their article, ‘This Is the Most Popular Coffee Drink in Every State,’ Maine’s favorite way to consume coffee is iced coffee! And we’re not alone. Taste of Home had this to say about the results surrounding iced coffee:
Perhaps surprisingly, coffee drinkers across America are big fans of chilled coffee. Iced coffee was the most searched in 28 states in total—a landslide victory.
So now we know Maine’s favorite coffee drink. But what about the most popular brewing method?
Again, according to Taste of Home, the article continues, revealing that Maine’s favorite brewing method is filter coffee, the second most popular method in the country, while the most popular nationwide is the coffee pod method. Taste of Home shared their thoughts on these results as well:
Of all the brewing methods, searches for “coffee pods” were most popular in 40 states. If you haven’t jumped on the singe-serve coffee maker bandwagon, it seems now is the time to join.
What are your thoughts on Taste of Home’s article, the results of their study, and Maine’s selection of iced coffee as the most popular drink and filter coffee as our preferred brewing method? We’d love to hear from you! Feel free to join the conversation by messaging us on the app.
