Millinocket Man Charged in Baby’s Death

A 33-year-old Millinocket man has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of an infant last May.

Maine State Police and MDEA agents arrested Jesse Mackin in Millinocket Wednesday night, according to State Police spokesman Steve McCausland. The arrest followed Mackin's indictment earlier in the day by the Penobscot County grand jury.

Mackin is charged in the death of six-month-old Larry Earl Lord, who was the son of Mackin's girlfriend, police said. The baby died at the hospital after being brought there unresponsive by his mother in May 2015. State Police have been investigating the death since that time.

Mackin was taken to the Penobscot County Jail and will likely make his first court appearance Thursday or Friday, McCausland said.

The infant was the son of accused murderer Anthony Lord, who was arrested in Houlton last July.
