26-year old Cameron Soto of Fairhaven, Massachusetts, made his plea last week in U.S. District Court.

Court records show that on March 14, 2017, Soto distributed fentanyl to a resident of St. George, Maine who died as a result. The next day, Soto distributed fentanyl to a person working with law enforcement.

Soto will be sentenced after the completion of a presentence investigation report by the U.S. Probation Office. He could face up to 24 years in prison, a $2,000,000 fine and six years to life on supervised release.

Collaborating in the investigation were the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Rockland Police Department, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
