Massachusetts Man Arrested In Ellsworth Hotel After Drug Bust
Authorities say a Boston man was arrested on Monday, charged with felony drug trafficking following a drug bust at an Ellsworth hotel.
Maine State Police spokesperson Shannon Moss says 40-year-old Asa Polk, from Massachusetts, is being held without bail at the Hancock Couty Jail, due to the serious nature of the charges brought against him.
Polk was arrested after authorities, acting on a tip of suspected drug trafficking from a room at the Hawthorn Extended Stay Hotel, conducted surveillance on the room, and ultimately obtained a warrant to search it.
"At approximately 9:30 PM on Monday, Agents along with Ellsworth Police executed the search warrant on the hotel room. Seized as a result of the investigation were over 180 grams of Cocaine Base (Crack), 16 grams of fentanyl, 15 grams of Xylazine, 3 grams of cocaine, and $566.00 in suspected drug proceeds."
Moss says investigators with the MDEA’s Down East Task Force (who are assigned to cover Hancock and Washington Counties) worked with members of the Ellsworth PD on Monday's drug bust.
