Margo Price and Paul Cauthen offered up a rowdy cover of the classic Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty tune "You're the Reason Our Kids Are Ugly," during a stop at the Kessler Theater in Dallas, Texas, as part of Price's Nowhere Fast Tour. Readers can press play above to catch the foot-stomping action that took place earlier this month.

Originally written and recorded in 1977 by LE White and Lola Jean Dillon, Price and Cauthen give the playful banter the genuine honky-tonk treatment in their fun-loving cover, following in the footsteps of musical greats over the years who have played and recorded the song, including Vince Gill and Cyndi Lauper in 2016. The tune falls right in line with Price's throwback country & western style of music, showcasing her old-school chops and delivering a sweet tribute to one of country's classic duet partnerships.

Cauthen served as an opener for Price on several of her Texas stops during her 2018 tour. Price is promoting her latest album, All American Made, which came out in October of last year; the record follows 2016's Midwest Farmer's Daughter, her critically acclaimed debut disc.

"You're the Reason Our Kids Are Ugly" is one of several duets Twitty and Lynn performed over the course of the careers. The two country stars, who both enjoyed substantial success as solo artists as well, made 11 studio albums together between 1971 and 1988 and were noted for their onstage chemistry and easy back-and-forth. Some of their performances, such as "You're the Reason Our Kids Are Ugly," as well as "Pickin' Wild Mountain Berries," demonstrated the pair's comedic take on love songs, but they also proved their range with more straightforwardly romantic ballads, including "Lead Me On."
