RCMP say Christopher Jamieson appeared in Woodstock Provincial Court on Thursday and was charged with production of marijuana, possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking, possession of weapons contrary to a court order, and unsafe storage of firearms and ammunition.

Members of the West District RCMP had executed a search warrant Monday at a residence in Bairdsville, south of Perth-Andover. During the search, police say they seized more than 1,100 marijuana plants in various stages of growth and production, about 13 pounds of marijuana processed to be turned into hashish, as well as indoor and outdoor marijuana grow equipment.

RCMP say the number of plants, once mature, and amount of marijuana seized could have produced upwards of 570,000 marijuana joints. A pound of marijuana seeds and four rifles were also confiscated.

Jamieson is also charged with being in possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public peace, in connection with a previous incident.

He has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to court on July 13.
