Man Dies In House Fire in Central Maine

TURNER, Maine (AP) — The state fire marshal is investigating the cause of a house fire that left a man dead.

The fire marshal identifies the victim as 69-year-old Daniel Chabot.

Maine's fire marshal is investigating what led to the late Friday afternoon fire on Snell Hill Road in Turner. The fire started in a bedroom and firefighters from Turner and surrounding communities largely contained it.

The Sun Journal reports that neighbors and bystanders tried to pull Chabot from the fire.
