Maine Teachers Could See A Pay Increase
A new Bill is making its way through the statehouse right now which could see a major increase in pay for public school teachers. According to WGME, Senator Rebecca Millett of Cape Elizabeth has introduced the bill. This is the 3rd time in 4 years she has attempted to raise the base pay of teachers in Maine. If the bill passes, K-12 grade teachers will see an increase from $30,000 to $40,000.
So far the bill has support in the house and the senate and if it gets the procedural votes it will go to Governor Mills.
